Connect ChatGPT to Business Central
It takes about ten minutes. You need Business Central online, the Bee Solved AI Assistant installed and switched on (see Getting started), and ChatGPT Business, Enterprise or Edu on the web. A workspace admin or owner adds Bee Solved once (steps 2 and 3). Then everyone connects with their own sign-in (step 4). On ChatGPT Pro you can add it yourself, for questions only.
Step 1: Copy your connection URL
- In Business Central, search for Bee Solved AI Assistant and open the page.
- Make sure Uses ChatGPT and Enable Bee Solved AI Assistant are ticked.
- Choose Copy Connection URL. It looks like
https://mcp.beesolved.ai/mcp/<environment name>.
Each environment has its own URL. To use more than one environment, add a connector for each.
Step 2: Add Bee Solved (workspace admin or owner)
- In ChatGPT, go to Plugins.
- Select the + button, then Add custom MCP server.
- Name it Bee Solved.
- Under Connection, paste the connection URL.
- Choose OAuth for authentication, and sign in with your Microsoft work account when asked.
- Read the risk warning, tick I understand and want to continue, and select Create as a plugin.
- Check the list of Bee Solved tools, then test it in a new chat: type @ and choose Bee Solved.
Step 3: Publish it for your workspace (admin or owner)
- Open the Admin console and choose your workspace.
- Open Plugins, then Manage Legacy Apps, then Drafts.
- Select Publish. On Enterprise and Edu you can choose which groups get it, and which of its actions are allowed.
Step 4: Connect (everyone)
Each person finds Bee Solved under Settings, then Plugins, connects, and signs in with their Microsoft work account: the same account they use for Business Central. ChatGPT then works with their own Business Central permissions.
When Bee Solved adds new features: ChatGPT keeps the list of tools that was approved. A workspace admin refreshes it from the workspace’s app settings to pick up new ones.
Step 5: Ask your first questions
- “Which customers are overdue, and by how much?”
- “What is our gross margin this month compared with last month?”
- “Which items are below their reorder point?”
- “Put customer 10000 on credit hold.” (You’ll see a preview to confirm.)
If something doesn’t work
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| “Bee Solved isn’t switched on for you” | Ask your administrator to tick Enable Bee Solved AI Assistant in that company and give you the BESAI USER permission set. |
| You can’t add a custom MCP server | On Business, only admins and owners can. On Enterprise and Edu, an admin can give you permission. Free and Plus plans can’t. |
| ChatGPT Pro won’t make changes | OpenAI allows Pro read-only connections. Changes need Business, Enterprise or Edu. |
| A new Bee Solved feature isn’t offered | A workspace admin needs to refresh Bee Solved’s tool list in the workspace’s app settings. |
| You signed in with the wrong account | Disconnect the connector in ChatGPT and connect again with your work account. |
| A company is missing | Bee Solved must be switched on in each company. Ask your administrator. |
| Changes aren’t offered | Changes are off until an administrator allows them for you. See Making changes. |
