Questions to ask Business Central

How do I find slow-moving or dead stock in Business Central?

The short answer

In standard Business Central:

  1. Run Inventory – Top 10 List set to show the smallest sellers.
  2. Run Item Age Composition – Value to see how long stock has been on hand.
  3. Check Item Ledger Entries for each item’s last sale or consumption.

Putting these together for every item, and deciding what counts as slow, is usually a spreadsheet job.
